World Mental Health Day
Sunday 10th October is World Mental Health Day and this years theme focuses on “Mental Health in an Unequal World” which aims to highlight the lack of access to mental health services some people may experience due to their background. For example, the mental health Charity Mind has reported that People in the poorest fifth of the population are twice as likely to be at risk of developing mental health problems as those on an average income.
Everyone can play their part by supporting the cause for equality of access to mental health support and at John Francis Safety and Compliance, we work with businesses to ensure that their policies, procedures and approach to mental health support for their people is inclusive and works towards improving the mental health of all. With formally trained mental health first aiders on hand for support, we are able to help businesses with signposting their employees to resources and professional organisations who are able to help them, no matter what they are experiencing. For more information on how we can support the mental health of your employees, please get in touch.
